Golf: 2012 British Open Championship

Known simply as "The Open" by the players, golf's oldest and only major tournament held outside the US, returns in July to write yet another dramatic chapter in its storied history.

From July 19-22, The British Open Championship returns to Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club for the first time since 2001, where Aussie stars Adam Scott, Jason Day and Geoff Ogilvy will attempt to end a 19-year drought for Australians at The Open. Standing in the way of the Aussies will be Northern Ireland’s World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and fellow countryman and defending British Open champion Darren Clarke, plus a host of US and international stars including US Masters champion Bubba Watson and 14-time Major winner Tiger Woods.
