Closed Captions

To improve the TV experience of hearing-impaired viewers, AUSTAR offers Closed Captions on over 70 channels at no additional cost.

Closed Captions are subtitles that you can easily turn on and off using the [yellow] button on your AUSTAR remote control.

Closed Captions are offered on a program-by-program basis.

Recording Closed Caption Programs

Got MyStar or MyStar HD? You can record Closed Caption programs to your MyStar box, and watch them later with subtitles included.

MyStar also lets you pause and rewind LIVE TV, and store up to 60 hours of programming. More

Finding Closed Caption Programs

There are two ways to find Closed Caption programs:

  1. Look for the Closed Caption symbol (CC) in the program listings in the AUSTAR magazine or your on-screen TV Guide.
  2. Do an advanced search in AUSTAR's online TV Guide:
    1. Click on the advanced search drop down arrow.
    2. Tick the box located to the left of the closed caption symbol [CC]. You can also add any other search filters if you want to.
    3. Click Search. A list of programs that offer closed captioning will then display.
