AUSTAR and the Environment

AUSTAR is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility, establishing a 14-member taskforce to develop and implement business and cultural initiatives to deliver environmental benefits.

While AUSTAR does not have a high record of emissions, we recognise that we can all benefit from reducing waste and encouraging efficiency. A key aspect of our program is devoted to educating and encouraging this behaviour in our business.

We’ve positively embraced these initiatives and continue to look to ways to improve our environmental impact.

What We've Done

  • Exploring ways to reduce electricity and water usage.
  • Reducing travel between offices and promoting teleconferencing.
  • Rolling out e-communications with billing, customer communications, shareholder information, archiving and internal communications.
  • Defaulting to double-sided printing.
  • Encouraging similar behaviours with our 3rd-party suppliers.
  • Implementing energy-efficient server hardware.
