AUSTAR On-Screen TV Guide

It's a TV Guide on TV - genius!

And don't worry you don't need to be a genius to use it - it is super easy to use:

  1. Press [tv guide] on your remote.
  2. Select what type of channels you want to look at or choose to look at them all - it's up to you.
  3. Press [select] when you find a show you want to watch or press [AUSTAR] to return to the program and channel you were watching.

Create your own mini-TV Guide with Favourites 

Everyone has favourites so we've created a Favourites tab in the TV Guide which is ready for you to load your top 20* (dependent on your decoder) channels in to. It makes it easy to find your fave programs on your fave channels.

And if you press the [green] button (not when you are in the TV guide please) you can easily channel surf between your favourite channels. We look after you don't we!

To set up your favourites:

  1. Press [tv guide] on your remote.
  2. Press the [green] button on your remote.
  3. Follow the prompts to select your top channels.

To view your favourites TV Guide:

  1. Press [tv guide] on your remote.
  2. Use your arrow keys to select the Favourites tab
  3. Press [select] when you find a show you want to watch or press [AUSTAR] to return to the program and channel you were viewing.

Create your own TV diary with Planner 

Got a memory like a sieve? Then you'll like Planner - it's a TV diary that reminds you of programs you want to watch if you are forgetting to watch them!

Unfortunately we are not mind readers so you will need to tell us what you want to watch so we can remind you.

To set a program you want to be reminded about:

Simply highlight the programme you want to set a reminder for within the on-screen TV Guide and then press the [select] button on your remote control. There - you've just set a reminder. Now if you go into AUSTAR's Planner, the reminder will be logged there.

To view your TV Diary, simply press [planner] on your remote. If you need to edit any of your reminders, that's the place to do it. Just follow the on-screen prompts.

Get more info on the programs 

You are a considered decision maker. The mini-information box that appears at the bottom of the screen doesn't provide enough info for you. Fair enough - we can provide more information for you. Simply...

  1. Use your arrow buttons to find the program you want more info on within the TV Guide.
  2. Then press the [i] button. A full program synopsis box should then appear. To exit this box press the [i] button again.

Get TV listing information without even changing the channel 

This is one for the show offs! It looks very tricky but between you and me it's very easy to use.

To see what's playing on other TV channels without having to change the channel (it's not technically channel surfing then!):

  1. Use the [up] and [down] arrows on your remote to scroll through the channels. A box will appear at the bottom of the screen with the channel info.
  2. If you find something you'd rather watch press [select].
